Soursop Custard Apple Tree (annona muricata)

Widely cultivated in the more tropical regions of the globe, Soursop has a sweet and tart custard-like pulp. Fruiting in as few as two years, the dark green, prickly fruit are typically egg and heart shaped, can grow to 12 inches long and weigh up to ten pounds. They make flavorful milkshakes and smoothies, after the seeds are removed, but can be eaten fresh as well. Tolerant of poor soils these trees are fast growing and fairly small in stature only reaching 10 to 15 feet at maturity.
