Monaloa Parrot Plant (juanulloa aurantiaca)

Woah that’s cool! Remarkable cheerfully orange waxy inflorescence in a sort of star shape pop open at the pointed end, like a bird beak, to allow the tubular orange flower out for pollination. Considered to be a fast-growing woody vine or shrub depending on its growing location, it can grow to around 4 feet. Elliptical leaves have a hairless upper side and a fuzzy underbelly. In its growing zone Manaloa has been reported to bloom year-round. Tremendous for training to a trellis, arbor or pergola in the southern garden and if trimmed makes a great urban patio plant in a container.
