Mandarin Melonberry Chinese Che Tree (cudrania tricuspidata)

Large red fruit clusters, soft, chewy and super-sweet reminiscent of a cross between a mulberry and a fig. aka Che, the unique tree has a long history of being grown for both food and medicine in China. It leafs out and blooms late in spring and is rarely caught by a late spring freeze. The melon berry tree requires minimal care, is drought and frost tolerant and grows well in poor soils similar to the related mulberry.
