Lg. Dwarf Black Wax Ginger Plant (tapeinochilos novaebudaensis)

A Flamboyant addition to the tropical landscape! Looking similar to a ripening pinecone, the stiff and pointy bracts of the inflorescence are deep maroon to black with orangeish red flowers and grow semi basally while the leaf stalks continue ever upward with a bamboo like appearance, to around seven feet. Novaebudaensis prefers just a little shade and a moist but well drained soil. Note: The long lasting inflorescence (blooms), when vased, can often be enjoyed for two or more weeks.
