Grumichama Brazilian Cherry (eugenia brasiliensis)

Exquisitely ornamental Grumichama is an erect slender tree that can grow to 25 or 25 feet high. Covered in thick foliage of oblong, glossy and leathery leaves that share space, during flowering season, on the branches. The blooms go from flower to fruit in 30 days with ripening happening over a few days. Small berry sized fruits hang from long stalks and go from vibrant green to bright red then dark purplish black as it ripens. The skin of the fruit is thin the interior pulp is whitish, juicy and a little tart.
